Position Summary:

The Director of Content is responsible for developing and executing a content strategy that aligns with CAIA Association’s purpose of building the most energized community of investment professionals dedicated to improving client outcomes.

As a dedicated head, this position will be an integral partner in establishing CAIA’s content agenda and executing a comprehensive content strategy that aligns with CAIA’s brand marketing and community value proposition. This individual will oversee the creation, repurpose, and distribution of CAIA’s thought leadership and content assets across all channels.

This position reports to the Managing Director of Global Content Strategy.


Duties and Responsibilities:


Content and Thought Leadership – 50%

  • Serve as a key contributor and leader of the global editorial committee, helping to shape content priorities and address key issues related to CAIA Association’s thought leadership agenda.
  • Serve as the managing editor and/or a contributing author across all written content mediums, including newsletters, blog posts, and long-form thought leadership.
  • Lead multi-part content projects that require partnerships with SMEs and marketing, such as long-form thought leadership papers and podcast episodes.
  • Remain informed of industry trends to ensure content remains timely and relevant to the CAIA Association community.
  • Translate complex industry-specific content, partnering with internal subject-matter experts where appropriate for marketing collateral and content assets.
  • Develop derivative content across multiple channels including audio, video, webinars, presentations, and print.
  • Periodically provide editorial support for external communications and ensure all scheduled content-specific are consistent with brand standards, tone and quality.
  • Occasionally represent CAIA at webinars, conferences, Chapter events, and ad hoc presentations, as appropriate.

Marketing and Communications – 30%
  • Ensure content alignment with CAIA Association’s voice and brand standards.
  • Partner with Director of Content Marketing and Brand Strategy to manage the content calendar, key release dates, and communication workflows.
  • Support public relations and social media efforts, including drafting op-eds and engaging in media outlets.
  • Assist in aligning messaging across formal education programs and content assets, particularly during annual updates to the Body of Knowledge.

 

Community Engagement and Strategy – 20%
  • Develop relationships with key stakeholders across the alternative investments industry.
  • Create opportunities for active participation and knowledge-sharing within the CAIA community
  • Gather and incorporate community feedback into the broader content strategy to ensure relevance and responsiveness.
  • Identify and engage community members interested in contributing to CAIA’s content channels (blogs, podcasts, videos, events, etc.).

Work Schedule and Expectations:
  • Hours: Minimum of 40 hours per week
  • Work Arrangement: Remote
  • Travel: Minimum of 10% travel required
 
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Journalism or related
  • Demonstrated alignment with CAIA Association’s cultural values: Adventurers, Artisans, Builders, and Celebrators
  • Proven ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with executive and director-level stakeholders
  • Exceptional communication, writing, and presentation skills
  • Willingness to stay informed about global investment industry trends, markets, and asset classes
  • 7-10 years of experience in content marketing, investment management or a related field, ideally with a background in editorial, journalistic, or education and a strong emphasis on thought leadership
  • Professional designations, such as the CAIA designation, or demonstrated progress towards completion are a strong plus
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Multilingual skills are a plus, particularly in support of global communications and outreach
